Our Story

Why We Do What We Do

Simons Trusted Companions was created for a very personal reason.

Two years ago, we lost our nana.

She was surrounded by a loving family who did everything they could to support her; spending time with her, talking with her, and making sure she was never without care or attention. But it became clear to us that not everyone has that same level of support.

Alongside family, paid carers were involved. Practical tasks were completed, but something important was often missing: time. There was little opportunity for conversation, limited engagement, and very little space for simple human connection.

Over time, we saw how that lack of regular companionship and stimulation affected her wellbeing.

She wasn’t incapable. She was under-stimulated and, at times, simply alone.

The Importance of Connection

Our nana loved to talk. She enjoyed sharing stories, feeling involved, and having someone genuinely listen.

When that connection was present, it lifted her. When it was missing, it had a noticeable impact on her mood and overall quality of life.

We also saw how everyday activities could become more difficult. Like many older people, she wanted to remain independent, but there were moments where having someone alongside her; not to take over, but simply to be there, would have made a real difference.

A Different Kind of Support

That experience shaped the idea behind Simons Trusted Companions.

We are not a care company, and we do not provide personal care or medical support.

Instead, we focus on what is often overlooked: companionship.

Time to talk.
Time to listen.
Time to be present.

Our Purpose

Our aim is simple.

  • To help people feel less alone
  • To help people feel more confident
  • To help people feel more connected to the world around them

We believe that regular, trusted companionship can make a meaningful difference, not by doing things for someone, but by being there with them.

Looking Ahead

Simons Trusted Companions exists to provide the kind of support we know can have a real impact.

A friendly face.
A familiar presence.
Someone who has the time to simply be there.
